WELCOME

Welcome to my Principal’s Blog! This space serves as both a reflection of my journey as an educational leader and a platform to share insights, strategies, and experiences from O. M. McNair Middle School. As part of my doctoral studies, I will also use this blog to engage with research, leadership practices, and authentic experiences that shape how we grow as a school community. Thank you for joining me on this journey of learning, leading, and inspiring.

Donna L. Thomas, Ed.S.
Principal, O. M. McNair Middle School

Hello! I’m Donna L. Thomas, and I have the honor of serving as the Principal of O. M. McNair Middle School in the Mississippi Achievement School District. Education has always been my calling — not just as a career, but as a purpose. Every day, I strive to inspire growth, excellence, and pride in our students, teachers, and community.

I’m a proud graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and later a Master’s Degree in Teaching. My passion for leadership and student success led me to pursue a Master’s in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, followed by a Specialist Degree in Administration and Supervision from Arkansas State University.

I’m currently advancing my journey as a lifelong learner by pursuing a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Teaching at Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler College of Education and Criminal Justice. This program allows me to continue refining my vision for effective teaching, learning, and school transformation.

At my core, I believe that education changes lives — and it starts with believing in every child’s potential. My mission is to lead with purpose, empower teachers, and help students see that their dreams are within reach.
